World's worst description of PB: "Pickle ball is kind of a hybrid of four square, in that they kind of bounce the ball, but there is a racquet, then there is also a net, too," said Richter.  Who would want to play a game like that?  Do you think he's ever picked up a racquet?

Randy is headed south for a few months, but is leaving behind a supply of paddles if anyone is interested.  Contact Tracey for more info: traceybthompson@aol.com

14 Northern Paddlers competed in yet another wonderfully organized and played tournament in Willmar this past Saturday.  Kudos to Troy Pederson for running a terrific tournament!   13 medals (and, more importantly, bragging rights) were won by Northern Paddlers.  Way to go Paddlers!  Next Minnesota tournament is in Virginia on September 25th.  See 'tournament' tab for more information.

Congratulations to all who participated in this year pickleball inaugural at the Star of the North Games.  17 Northern Paddlers took home 29 medals making Saint Cloud, in my objective opinion, the heart of PB in Minnesota!  Congratulations to Betty, Jackie, Gloria, Jeanne, Marilyn, Tracey, Kathy, Sue, Steve R, Mike T, Tom, Gerry, Kai, Jerry, Randy and Kim with a special tip of the hat to double gold medalist Patti!
Next year's Star of the North Games will be in Rochester.  Road trip anyone?  (Actually it has yet to be determined whether or not PB will be an annual event.  Stay tuned for more information.)
NB: See photo gallery under 'action shots' tab. Super photos thanks to Sharon.
